Miya tests the truth on his tongue, trying to get the taste of it. He holds his breath. “Adam used to drive me, I guess. Or, you know - his driver did.”
He regrets it, immediately. Anxiety rises in his throat, pushes against his teeth. “Not anymore, though,” he adds. “Obviously.”
Cherry’s knuckles are white on the wheel. “Right,” he says, softly. “Obviously.”
Miya and Kaoru realize they have something in common. No one is very happy about it.

Miya lets his Switch fall to the table with a loud clatter, abandoning the fight and eyeing Joe from his seat, “I don’t have one.”
It’s like Joe hadn’t seen his reaction, deciding to annoyingly prattle on, hands on his hips, “What? Everyone has a favorite food.”
Without his Switch to distract his hands, Miya clenches them into fists, “I don’t.” Then he adds: “Even if I did have one, all you can cook here is Italian.”
Miya's confronted by Joe's kindness and penchant for feeding others, along with his worst enemy besides himself.
