It had been a fluke that he noticed the little banner on the packaging of his Vita-WOW chocolate flavored calcium supplement while doing the shopping—his preferred brand despite the fact that they’re considerably more expensive than the rest—and when he’d gotten home and found his reading glasses he’d squinted at the banner, feeling his eyebrows arch as he finally read the words: a contest to win a lifetime supply of the supplements.
He’d mulled it over for a few days before he decided to enter on a whim, thinking that surely there was no way that he would win, and had forgotten about it completely until months later when he’d gotten an email congratulating him on winning, at which point he’d realized he should have read the terms and conditions much more thoroughly...

It should be known that Sirius Black is also stubborn and capricious and refuses to bend to anyone's will, so the House of Black can get fucked.It's 500BC and omega's rights are rather dismal. Dismal being akin to non-existent. Sirius flees from his family's iron clutch and stumbles into the path of Remus Lupin, an alpha from the Wildlands like Sirius has never met before: gentle and kind and expecting nothing in return; nothing like the entitled nobles he's accustomed to. Travelling together seems like a good idea.

It’s a Friday afternoon. On Fridays, Sirius goes to the pub with his friend James. James sometimes brings his wife along, and sometimes just countless pictures of his son. Sirius sees the kid at least twice a week but still he looks at each photo as if it were a great treasure.
Remus goes in fifteen minutes after them, sometimes half an hour. Sometimes he doesn’t go in at all and sits in his car instead, waiting for the bartender to call last orders. Twice he felt brave and sent a drink to Sirius’ table, but left before it was delivered. Both times the bartender told him the same: this is a pub, mate. You want to talk to him, go talk to him, I ain’t doing table service.
