“And you are certain this will work?” The right Watcher hummed, finally. The weight of its many eyes pinning Grian in place. "Why allow such a lengthy grace period?"
He bit the inside of his cheek.
Truthfully — the hardest part about designing this game had been exactly that.

“Because,” Grian lifted his head, meeting Its gaze head-on. “There is nothing like watching everything you’ve ever loved being destroyed by your very own hands.”

Grian smiled upon seeing him, and he saw how Scar raised a hand in greeting from his periphery.
However — the smiles and gleeful greetings weren't returned.
Instead, Cub only nodded curtly.

Scar frowned, leaning closer the best he could from where he was sitting. "No, they won't."
"They definitely will!" Grian exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air from frustration. "I'm the definition of a traitor."
"Maybe. But they're your family. If I am to believe anything you've told me about them — they'll understand."
Grian turned to look at him, deadpanning.
Scar grimaced. "…Eventually."
OR:
Grian was sent by the resistance to assassinate the king of Bluecrest. He was meant to murder Scar. Except, once he realized that Scar was the mysterious man he'd been meeting in his dreams every night — he couldn't make himself do it.
But how is he supposed to tell his siblings?

The stranger squinted at him. “Weird. My dreams aren’t usually this odd."
That snapped Grian out of it. His heart slowed just enough to let his mouth catch up. “Wait. Dream?"
The man nodded, casual. “Yeah. I’m lucid dreaming. You’re a figment of my subconscious, or something like that."
Grian raised an eyebrow.
Yeah. Definitely his weirdest dream so far.

Grian is a thief, living in a crumbling alleyway shack with his younger siblings, Pearl and Jimmy. He’s also the leader of a resistance movement, formed in retaliation to a neglectful king of a crumbling kingdom — and anything he touches becomes infected by a deadly spore.
Each night, Grian meets a man he feels impossibly drawn to — a connection neither of them can explain. While something tender begins to grow between them, the resistance plans their attempt on the king’s life.

He had a plan. He would leave his chambers when They were preoccupied Watching the first installment of MCC, and quietly make his way to Their portal hall.
He had been foolish for ever thinking he could avoid Their Eyes.
So now, he's getting chased with his insides simultaneously threatening to spill out.
Or; Grian escapes the downside-up, and crashlands onto Hermitcraft — with a hint of stockholm syndrome. :)

Summary
Ever since Scar found out Grian has been spending the nights drowning in work instead of sleeping, Scar decided to take matters into his own hands.
It was past midnight, and what was Scar doing at this ungodly hour on a Friday? Standing outside his boyfriend’s door (his insides felt giddy at the fact that he got to call Grian that), hand hovering over the doorbell as he tried to instil the courage in himself to finally press the bell.
He knew Grian was up. Grian just sent him a meme ten minutes ago. So why was he hesitating? Even he knew not. He took a deep breath and pressed the bell, hearing the accompanying shrill screech. It didn’t take long for the door to spring open, revealing his lovely, winged boyfriend.
His dirty blonde hair was dishevelled, sticking up from all sides. The dark eye-bags under his eyes were a clear indication of the lack of sleep he received. He was wearing his signature red sweater, all wrinkled, with the sleeves folded up.
Scar helps Grian fall asleep :D

Grian couldn’t help but treat the offer with suspicion. He wasn’t sure if the other was outright lying, but there was just something so… off, about the man, from his overeager personality to the gold rings in his slightly pointed ears, and he made sure to remain cautious about it all.
“A lawyer, huh? What do you charge?” he asked, one hand clutching his glass perhaps a little tighter than necessary.
The smile on the other’s pretty scarred face sharpened just a little. “Oh, nothing much… Just your first born child,” the stranger said with a wave of his hand, emerald green eyes sharp.

Fae Scar attempts to trick and/or bind Grian to eternal servitude, but Grian manages to accidentally stumble through every loophole in existence with his eyes closed.
