There are four things that went wrong with tonight.
One - the outfit you obsessively picked for your date tonight got misplaced at the cleaners; those were the pants you loved the most and the top was just low cut enough to give a glimpse that kept them coming back.
Two - your replacement outfit was too tight in the worst ways. The inseams dragged against your thighs. The bras under wire kept poking out. The shirt just isn't sitting the way you wanted. All in all, it wasn't the outfit you planned first and now it sucks.
Three - when you texted your date that you were running behind, they were very understanding. Just told you they'd meet you there. Which isn't the worst part. The worst part is going outside and immediately being completely drenched by the downpour that absolutely was not in the forecast.
Four - you've been sat at the table for long enough that the waitress is giving you the look

That gets the tears to really fall, down your cheeks and pattering unevenly onto your dirty tee shirt. "I don't have anywhere to go." You break, head falling into your hands.
"Alright."
The car starts moving, and it's such a gentle movement you don't even really notice until you're turning, shifting slightly in your seat. You wipe your eyes, and look at him. You don't even get to ask before he glances at you, answering in that gentle matter of fact way that he seems to just have about him.
"I'm taking you home."

Two, the second weirdest thing is that when he orders take out, his DoorDasher leans in really close to his face and sniffs him. Which, okay, so he forgot to shower last night, is it such a crime? Sue him, whatever.
The last and final thing that broke the straw on the camel's back was the man who stops him outside of Grover Cleveland Middle School while he's fumbling with his bike lock and sweating over rewriting the answer key for his practice exams, to ask if he could hit up that "Sweet Omega Ass," which- what the fudge? Who do you think you are, and what even is an Omega?
