Years ago, he’d learned with Eddie that feeding revenants was to be avoided at all costs.
They’d huddled together under a blanket in the bed they’d shared most nights, trying viciously not to give the inky, dreadful shapes in the corner any fear or notice. When Andrew felt cold he’d clung to Eddie’s skin, which always ran warm, no matter what. That helped, back then. It was so stupid to ignore that primal and instinctual terror he’d nursed for years since.
But the only way to bring Eddie closer to him now was to feed his fear into the thing pressed against him, ice cold and murmuring, stroking, leaving half-burning welts along Andrew’s skin.
