Summary
When Michael discovers his mother dead in his father's arms, the world as he knew it to be, suddenly came to a screeching halt. Now, with no one holding William back, his abuse towards his last remaining child becomes unbearable, with Michael forced to stomach all of it up until he finally graduates highschool.
When Michael realizes that his father was going to just make him become an unpaid worker in Freddy's, he decides to move out on his own and drive off to Las Vegas to start a new life for himself. His job is far from perfect - but things in his life finally start to click when he meets a stripper by the name of Serenity.

Mike took a step back, he could smell the alcohol on her breath. She was drunk.

Michael's wail rang throughout the quiet house, his voice echoing off furniture and framed photos as it traveled all the way to Vanessa's room. Her door was closed, but that barely did anything to muffle the sound. It was impossible to ignore, it sounded like someone was hurting him. But there was no sound of her parent's door opening, the soft patter of her mother's feet or the even thuds of her father's.
Vanessa closed her eyes and braced herself. It was going to be one of those nights.

Mike wordless slips her foot into the remaining boot and begins lacing it up. “I know you are. That's one of the reasons I don't think you should be alone right now.”
She gives him a tiny smile as she stares down at him. “I appreciate the concern, Mike. But I'll be okay.”
He looks up at her. “What about just for tonight?”
“What?”
“You can just relax, I'll make you dinner, and you can have my bed. Tomorrow you can be independent and back on your feet but you deserve one day of rest outside of this hospital." His eyes are wide and pleading.
