The unfortunate fact about portals is that they, very frequently, lead to somewhere else. Now, when a potential traveler is aware both of the existence of a particular portal and prepared for where it will lead, then a portal may prove a boon. This was not the case for the Lady Sif, daughter of Tyr, Shield Maiden of Asgard. Of all times to stumble upon a portal, it would have to have been right then, right when she was most desirous of returning home to Asgard. Of course, it could not lead her to the warm springs and friendly lodging houses of Vanaheim or the quiet sanctity of Alfheim. No, of all places for the portal to lead, it must be to the frigid wasteland of the Frost Giants.
