“It doesn’t matter now anyway,” John interrupts. “I need to talk to you about something,” his eyes flit back to Jess. “Alone.”
“No,” Sam steps back, winds an arm around her waist. He’s tense, she can feel him vibrating against her. She squeezes him back, subtly. “You have something to say, you say it here.”
She can see the conflict play out over John’s face. He’s stubborn, she’s sensing that’s probably where Sam gets it from, but there’s something else at play here, something that had him breaking into his estranged son’s apartment after four years.
“It’s your brother,” he says eventually, and Jess feels Sam’s sharp inhale like an electric shock. “He’s on a hunting trip, and he hasn’t been home in a few days.”

Dallas bit his tongue before he said something that would fuck them both over even further.
He shook it off.
"I can pay for it," He tried, his eyes finding the not injured, not scratched or dented bumper of his damn car.
"With what money?" Ellie muttered and he glared at her. The asshole laughed.

In 1998, Dallas planned a trip home to see his family during winter break. When he finally got to their new house, he found his mom and dad dead, had a ghost almost end his life, and somehow ended up getting his sister out alive.
In 2006, he's running from the media, the law, all while trying to raise and home school his sister at the same time.
At the same time, Sam and Dean Winchester are trying to find their father.
Dallas' path continues to cross with the asshole with the pretty cool car and his brother, and very quickly find their lives very much intertwined.
