The brush of fingertips against Rumi’s open palm was featherlight, but it was enough. Against her better judgement, Rumi turned her head to look up at Mira. Behind her glasses, Mira’s eyes were bright, and Rumi could not help but sit up to meet them properly. Something fluttered inside Rumi’s chest, sending a hot ripple down Rumi’s Patterns. Rumi considered it—she normally gave in quickly—but the way she’d looked at her before she kissed her neck, and the way she’d reacted to Rumi threatening to leave and finish herself off, was echoing around her brain. She was forming a theory, and she needed to test it.
She hooked a finger under Mira’s choker, pressing her knuckle gently against her throat, and tugged. She felt more than heard the way it made Mira’s breath hitch. She did it again, and this time Mira’s nails dug in deeper involuntarily.
Which was a very interesting reaction.
While Zoey's away Mira learns something new about Rumi.

She looked over at the sound of muffled conversation and felt her entire body perk up at the recognition of Rumi's gentle tones. She couldn't quite make out the other voice, a little too deep and low to hear through the walls.
"Mira! Sorry, I know I'm normally a little earlier, but someone-" Rumi said as she pulled in her friend by the wrist, "Was dragging his feet."
Mira looked at the new person. He was… handsome, she supposed, with his defined jaw and soft features and neatly parted hair. He gave her a friendly wave, and Mira waved back.
"This is Jinu, my boyfriend," Rumi continued.
Oh.
Mira had a crush on Rumi the entire time she'd been her dance instructor. She had a handle on it—she was good at controlling her emotions—until Rumi brought her boyfriend to class.
