Bucky makes a sound in his throat, and Darcy realizes he’s trying not to laugh. She narrows her eyes at him, and he raises his hands in mock surrender before starting to clean the area around her nipple of any blood.
“It’s just one of the more interesting things people have said when I’ve pierced them,” he says.
“What’s it usually?” she asks.
“Lots of ‘god damn it,’” he says. “Occasionally someone calls me an asshole. One guy I pierced a prince Albert on wished me a year of the flu.”
“Well that’s a little extreme. He’s the one who asked to be stabbed in the dick,” she says.

Darcy felt a twinge of…recognition was it? Like something familiar tugging at the insides of her mind before descending to clench around her heart.
Ugh. Ridiculous.
As soon as the thought was out it made her eyes roll. She scoffed at herself and sat up quickly, straightening her shoulders and trying not to think too hard about the way she’d been leaning towards him on the screen. Clearly her lady bits needed more attention of the male variety. After all, there was no such thing as love at first sight, much less love at first live surveillance stream, no matter what Buzzfeed’s crack team of scientists had to say about it.

When Darcy accepted the job with Stark Industries, she didn’t expect to end up being Howard Stark’s research assistant. But lab accidents will happen when you work for a scientist that is trying to rip holes in space to travel across the galaxy.
Who knew watching all those old movies on TCM with her grandmother might come in handy for something other than winning at trivia, like helping a modern 21st century woman to fit into the 1940s.
However, nothing could prepare her for falling for a man she knew would die during the war and being unable to stop it for fear of disrupting the timeline.

Summary
Six months after the Avengers defeated Thanos, no one is trying to adjust to a post-Blip world more than SHIELD Agent Darcy Lewis. It’s difficult though, what with life as she knew it forever changed and the appearance of an emotional trauma that she’s only kind of, sort of dealing with in therapy. Oh, and there’s the not so small matter of her feelings for one Bucky Barnes. But it’s fine. She’s trying, and as Steve would say, that’s all that matters.
Bucky, meanwhile, is dealing with his own complicated trauma and just trying to find his place—and purpose—in the world for the first time in 90 years. He’s also trying to navigate a life without Steve, deal with Sam’s steadfast yet irritating presence, and the fact that the woman he’s in love with doesn’t feel the same way. It’s a lot for a 106 year old, but he’s trying.
They have no choice, however, but to confront their trauma—and unsaid feelings—head on as they work with Sam to once again save the world. And, perhaps somewhere along the way, they’ll both learn that the ending of the life they knew isn’t such a bad thing. That it's really only the beginning of a new one.

Darcy wouldn’t say she hates anyone. It’s a strong word. Sure, she despised her third-grade maths teacher for months after telling her she was not, in fact, any good at maths. And she had intensely disliked Ian Boothby for a solid six months after he’d broken up with her.
But hate? Darcy wasn’t sure she was capable of that kind of emotion. It wasn’t a word in her dictionary. Mama Lewis had raised her to be kind, and if not kind, then indifferent.
So it wasn’t that she hated Barnes, even if he was rude, annoying, a jerk, stupid, unfairly handsome, and overall just a bit of a jackass.
No, it was because, despite it all, he made it hard for her to be indifferent towards him.

I've got a couple of chapters drafted already and it's feeling like this will wrap up somewhere around 10 parts.
