I lived with this hunger long before the Hail Mary. This is nothing new. I’m fine.

Right up until Rocky asks another question.

“When last time you touch other human person skin, question?”

Oh. Oh no. “When I… a few days after I first woke up here.”

Rocky starts to relax for a split second, but then tightens when something occurs to him.

“Grace crewmates dead when you wake up. You said this, statement. You not even know your own name, remember nothing, see dead bodies, confirm?”

I nod, because if I open my mouth I will gag.

“When last time Grace touch ALIVE human person, question.”

I swallow thickly. I don’t answer aloud because I know Rocky can hear the hitch in my breath. My stomach churns with fresh bile. He senses my vital signs tick over into stress patterns and goes very, very still again.

    “Grace. When last time, question.”

I clench my jaw so hard my temples ache, and beg him with my eyes to just stop.

“Grace. Please say not when… when Evil Stratt humans put you to sleep.”

    I can taste grass.

Rocky’s impatient, translated sigh was loud. His echolocation could tell where I was and how long it was taking my part of the installation. He was also moving all over the place, which wasn’t unusual, but at the moment, it felt like too much.

My lips thinned and I yanked my arm harder than was necessary. “Ow. Yes, okay! I’m getting there, just…oh, no-“

Seriously? I looked away for two seconds and somehow, my traitorous wrist had actually begun rotating it back the other way.

“I was almost…oh c’mon! No, Rocky- do not ask, just -just hold your darn horses!”

    ‘Rocky hold what?’

Not Percy tilted his head. “And if you could?”
“Could what?” Annabeth’s voice was soft and wary, her edge thrown off by the way those sea green eyes stared impassively at her. “Change who I am-who we are? Make us mortal?” Annabeth paused, but only for half a second. She wished she had paused longer. Later she’d wish she hadn’t spoken at all. “Of course. I’d give anything for a normal mortal life with you, Percy.”
“So you’d chose a safe mortal life, with Percy, over your demigod life.”
Annabeth tried not to flinch at Percy’s third person name useage. “If I had Percy with me. Yes. Yes I’d give anything to just be able to live a mortal life.”
Percy smiled, but it wasn’t any of the smiles she knew. “The choice is yours, Annabeth.”
    And then everything went black.

When the dream asked if she would take a mortal life with Percy, she didn't exactly think it was real. 📚 What do I get to be, if I was never allowed to start from me?

Ranma wants to be rid of the curse. That’s all.
But the more he fights to reclaim his body, the more it slips away—from him, from what he thought he was, from the person Akane thought she knew.

And Akane—fierce, hurting, loyal to a fault—wants something too.
To understand him. To reach him. To be chosen by him, without becoming someone else in the process.

A slow-burning story about shame, identity, and the uneasy intimacy of growing up in a body that doesn’t always feel like yours.

    Genre: Please see tags

This is a grounded take on Ranma’s masculinity—one shaped by martial arts, parental expectation, and a curse that is no longer comic, but invasive. The transformations progress like a metastasizing condition, integrating into the nervous system with irreversible consequences.

Metamorphosis explores what happens when the curse stops being funny—and starts feeling real.

I’m obsessed with these two idiots, and I am loving the way this story is unfolding. The misunderstandings in this are executed so wonderfully. It makes me wanna eat the fic. Does that make sense?

    ~

What do I get to be, if I was never allowed to start from me?

Ranma wants to be rid of the curse. That’s all.
But the more he fights to reclaim his body, the more it slips away—from him, from what he thought he was, from the person Akane thought she knew.

And Akane—fierce, hurting, loyal to a fault—wants something too.
To understand him. To reach him. To be chosen by him, without becoming someone else in the process.

A slow-burning story about shame, identity, and the uneasy intimacy of growing up in a body that doesn’t always feel like yours.

Genre: Psychological Drama, Angst, Romance, Coming-of-Age.

    It’s different. “Connor”.

    Bland.

Hank thought it had a stick up its ass before, but this is something else. Every morning it’ll greet him in that annoying synthetic lilt, all placid smiles and canned platitudes. It’s banned from the field, too, just so that Hank never gets a break from its scrawny silhouette in his periphery. Haunting the precinct like a plastic specter. Gone are the little smiles, the attitude he thought he’d caught glimpses of. No more weird-ass small talk. Figures it’d drop the human act now that the gig is up.

Still, it creeps him out. The way it’ll look at him sometimes — wide brown eyes with nobody in the driver’s seat. He’s pretty sure it used to blink.

(The android revolution falls to a bullet. Hank returns to work to a familiar face.)

So good!! Such an emotional story that really builds the world around Hank as he spirals post revolution. Putting this in my reread rotation!
