They're so dumb but I love them, your honour.
Texting each other while sitting on the same couch, AAAAAHHHHHH.
Eddie:
Cute guy next to me
Lots of sexual tensionBuck, for the second time in five minutes, chokes. He splutters, even. And that’s Eddie’s bad for hitting the send button at the exact time he took a sip of his beer.
Eddie would whack him on the back in support of his efforts to breathe again, but he’s presently unable to look up from his phone.
Buck gets there eventually. He returns his beer to the coffee table with a shaky hand.
Buck:
What are you gonna do?Eddie:
It’s getting kinda awkward
We’re just sitting in silence
Both on our phonesHe’s pretty sure he hears Buck snort beside him.
Buck:
Are you gonna kiss himEddie:
You think I should? -

This fic is a warm and comforting blanket I didn't know I needed.
The slow evolution of their relationship is just right, for them. It makes sense because they are them, and they are just like that for each other. And no matter what it looks from the outside, they are BucknEddie.
“You weren’t together before you got engaged?”
“No,” says Buck.
“Right,” says Ravi. “I don’t know what I expected.
I love all of them.
Oh. And! I really really appreciated that there was no angst for them about each other. The sun rises everyday and BucknEddie love each other, no matter what the shape of that loves looks like. It is an unshakable foundation.

Summary
Evan—Buck, because he grew up while she was stuck in place—is holding her hand. He hasn't let go in… Maddie isn't sure how long. She is sure that she survived. She is sure that Chimney’s alive. She is sure that Doug isn’t. Beyond that, she isn’t sure of much.
Buck’s leg is bouncing.“You can get up if you need to,” Maddie says. Speaking makes her throat sore, but the silence is worse.
He’s shaking his head before she even finishes. “No, I’m, uh… No, I’m fine. I’m fine.”
“I don’t think you’ve sat in one place for this long in your entire life.”
“...I do kinda have to go to the bathroom.”
Maddie could make fun of him. Tell him you don’t need to raise your hand and ask, or something like that, but she knows why he won’t just get up and leave the room. He’d have to put a wall between them. He’d have to let go of her hand.

Summary
The big 'welcome to the family, sorry I tried to shut you out of it' dinner at Eddie's winds down, and Chimney decides it's time for him - and Albert - to go home. But, as he stands there and looks at his kid brother, half dozing off sitting at Eddie's dining room table, Chimney finds himself frozen, plagued by sudden doubt. What if he's not cut out for this?
It's Buck, of all people, who's there with an answer.

My heart, this fic.
Chimney and his 3 brothers, Kevin, Buck, and Albert. How Chim realized he had been a big brother all along. <3

Summary
Buck doesn’t think that if he were to say, “I’m in a bad place”, that anyone would turn him away. Really, he doesn’t. The 118 has too many good, kind people for that.
But every time he wants to open his mouth, to say something, to reach out to Eddie or Bobby or Hen or Chim, he hears Eddie yelling, “you’re exhausting.”
—you’re exhausting, you’re exhausting, you’re exhausting—
So each day he does his job and he laughs and he jokes and he pretends he’s the care-free goofball he’s always been. And each day he packs away his bruises and his worries, takes them home to his empty loft with its quiet rooms, and licks his wounds in silence.

Sometimes a fic hurts in just the right way. And bc it's fic, it'll also apologize and make you feel better.
