It’s very easy to pretend you’re over things when you’re travelling over twelve countries in just over six months. At least, it is if you’ve just left New York for the second time in your life and you’re taking your writing blog across the world with you.
Jane— a failing feminist— lands in Reykjavik, Iceland, thinking this is just another getaway. She’s cut off contact with every man she’s dated, even Pinstripe, for the time being, which leaves her with just her best friends and herself to navigate the globe. But a sudden familiar face coincidentally sharing the hotel floor she’s on might bring her right back to everything she thought she’d left behind.(Or, Jane and Jacqueline meet in Iceland, sans Scarlet. Not much has changed, and Jane’s feelings definitely haven’t, even if she’s always the last to know.)

It’s been four days since a dead body washed up onto Land’s End in Martinaise and RCM Lieutenant Kim Kitsuragi is no closer to solving the case than he was when the orders to investigate were thrown onto his desk as an afterthought.
“Here’s a body, you figure it out,” Harry mumbles from where he’s slumped over a plastic folding table, completing the truest of Kim’s thoughts with horrifying precision. “Have you ever thought about how unfair all of this is, Kim?” The dark bruising underneath his eyes is even more pronounced than it was the day they met, but the hungover haze in his pupils has been replaced with a sober sharpness that Kim has accidentally cut himself on several times over.
“Khm…” The noise leaves Kim’s mouth before he thinks better of it and Harry beams, like he’s somehow said the most interesting thing in the world.
On a routine investigation in Martinaise, RCM Lieutenant Kim Kitsuragi finds himself unexpectedly in the crosshairs of impending revolution, and at a more personal crossroads, thanks to an amnesiac communist radio operator whose uncanny insight is better than any partner he’s ever worked with.

Lieutenant Kim Kitsuragi transferred to Precinct 41 eight weeks ago, at Harry’s request, and has been quietly, devastatingly in love with his new partner since approximately 0309 on the night after the case in Martinaise.
Lieutenant-Double-Yefreitor Harrier Du Bois is sober(-ish), trying very hard, and has not, on the evidence, noticed.
The parliament in his head has noticed. The parliament is going to lose its mind about it for as long as it takes.
Two ruined middle-aged men quietly building something safe in the rubble of post-canon Revachol.
POV alternates between Harry’s skill-crowded chaos and Kim’s clinical restraint.(A/N: Started as a few lighthearted smut drabbles, but Conceptualization and Inland-Empire ran away with the budget. It is now an accidental slow-burn longfic. Logic failed the check to keep it brief. Gets filthier as it goes.)

Summary
On particularly bad days Trent finally gives up wrestling with his thoughts and muttering to himself; he grabs his jacket from the back of his chair and slips off quietly. He Returns some time later followed by a slight scent of tobacco smoke, looking calmer with gentle confidence returned as he slips back through the office and settles down with renewed focus for the rest of the day.
A 5+1 style story of Ted attempting to get closer to the writer and a love letter to smoking fictional men.
