To his surprise, Ace agreed easily. He said he’s heading back too. He’s apparently in the area for a quick holiday but didn’t mind cutting the trip short for Deuce.
“So, you’re finally coming back, huh?” Ace chuckled warmly. “I’m on my way.”
They set a date and time to meet at a gas station. Deuce is too shy to admit that he’s very excited to see Ace again, his first love.

Decades ago, Roger rescued a shark merman from traffickers. Since then, the merman lives in Roger’s seven-story mansion, in a large cylindrical tank.
The tank itself is a work of art, with countless fish swimming in it, and its faint turquoise glow, with corals at the base. Then, there’s the merman himself—a half-human, half-shark creature with pale, golden skin, and a powerful tail. The merman knows he’s a treasure in this house, and that he’s well protected here. As such, Newgate is mesmerised at first sight.

It’s always on those hot evenings they find their way to each other at the saloon full of other cowboys and gold diggers. Marco sat alone by a table nearest the entrance because it’s the only one left and he’s on his fifth glass of whisky.
Then, the bell rang and someone special came in. A young man, tall and broad-shouldered with a brilliant tan across his body. The scar on his chest was a badge of honour. He smiled like the sun.
His name is Ace, a beat traveller with a big hat and messy black hair. In hindsight, he wasn’t Marco’s first love but he felt that way. He’s the sort of love that shines so much it makes Marco’s chest tighten and ache for something he didn’t know he needed.
Marco tries to look away when Ace sits next to him but fuck me, isn’t Ace beautiful?

Recently, there’s a rowdy group of middle-aged men hogging the rows of tables in the center. They ordered piles upon piles of food, enough to feed a small town.
Plates of rice, piles of Pratas, bowls of Bak Kut Teh, Ace wondered how rich they were to be able to afford everything. In the middle of it all, sat a big old man they all called ‘pops’ who drank heavily and helped himself to a big bowl of Laksa and prawns.
Ace quietly puts his plate away and notices them looking at him. He clears his throat and decides he’ll buy a milo. They’re probably foreigners. He decides he’ll ignore them. Again.

“I can’t sleep,” Law said, not thinking much of the small talk. “I keep having weird dreams.”
“Of what sort?”
“I’d rather not say,” Law sighed. He took one good look at the barista’s face, boyish with finely sculpted cheekbones and nice double eyelids. His blonde hair shone in the sun. Law frowned. “I’m sorry, have we met before?”
The barista barked a laugh. “I make your coffee every day! Of course, we have!”
Law got red with embarrassment. His card finally worked. “I’m sorry. Thank you.”
As handsome as it was, Law couldn’t help but feel a bit unnerved by his smile. It felt a little too warm, a touch too affectionate to be forgiving for a mere social slip-up.

He let Marco have an extra bun. Marco smiled and thanked him. Whitebeard knew he’d love this little boy with his heart and soul.
