The ache becomes specific, then localized, then forgettable. Close enough to kiss, even. Hannibal frequently gets that close. He allows Will to get closer still. Because Will wants to look, and Hannibal gives.

He swallows, trying to keep control as he feels his chest tighten at the sight of Will stepping closer. He's not used to feeling this kind of vulnerability, this kind of lack of control, and it's both terrifying and intoxicating all at once. It takes every last bit of self-discipline to not just grab him by the jacket and pull him flush against his body… and when Will comes to stand in front of him, he can see the desire mirrored in the other man's eyes.
