It was all over, he could feel it. Whatever 'It' was, it had gone back to sleep. He knew he should be disappearing. The reason he was created - it was complete. Yet he couldn't feel the telltale sensation of fading away. He knew it should be coming. All the others who were around him, the other dolls and creatures - they had all faded away. He could even feel those in other parts of the town fading away too.
Yet here he was, strings, joints, and all. Still moving, still existing. Still alive?
Was he alive?In the house on Neibolt street during the 27 years between, two creatures still remained awake. From making houses for their pet maggots to refurbishing the entire house, they work together to create a life together, while struggling with understanding their feelings as well as the reason for their own existence.

Summary
Ian and Anthony aren’t being as careful as they should be. Shayne catches them being inappropriate in their office… to his surprise, this leads them to propose a fun little arrangement. In short, he gets to watch, but he can’t touch.
[He doesn’t do it on purpose, he didn’t even mean to look. It’s too late now. In the time it takes his brain to process that he’s not supposed to see what he’s seeing, he’s already paused and turned his head to stare.
His heart jumps to his throat, choking him. Before his eyes, only a glass door dividing them, Anthony in on his knees before Ian. His mouth full, and shall we say quite busy.

Present day Anthony traveled back to 2006, temporarily replacing the Anthony from that time. This is an AU/spin off/sequel to my other fic in this series. This is the explicit version of those events. Can probably be read as a stand-alone, but it lacks some context.

It’s like Anthony said, isn’t it? His Anthony, the younger one from the current year, won’t know about this unless Ian decides to tell him. And what he doesn’t know can’t hurt him, so Ian can simply not tell him.
