Summary
After weeks of hunting a serial killer who always seems to be two steps ahead of them, Special Agent Eugene Fitzherbert proposes a desperate Hail Mary: use himself as bait to draw the killer out.
In his defense, the plan does technically work. He definitely caught their killer's attention, considering he's currently drugged to the gills and strapped to an operating table in her basement. Immediately, the plan changes from catching her to just trying to survive long enough for his partner and the team to find him.
And then he realizes the killer has a ten year old son, and the plan changes again.

HOLY MOLY OF ALL GUACAMOLES THIS FANFICTION IS ONE OF THE GREATEST THINGS I’VE HAD THE PLEASURE OF BEING ABLE TO READ. WHAT A SUPERB IDEA AND EXECUTION. Writing a beautiful bond between these two in such a bleak enviornment shouldn’t really work but it really does and it feels so so real Wow Wow I’m not smart enough to write anything better than wow I just love this story
