Summary
With the first five-year mission ending in less than six months, Captain Kirk and Spock are sent by Starfleet to attend a First Contact Symposium on a newly admitted Federation planet. They don’t expect the hotel to lose their reservation, nor do they expect to be rebooked at a rather intimate hotel with only one available room.
Navigating a romantic, lagoon-themed hotel suite with only one bed, Kirk does his best to hide how badly he’s pining over his first officer and focus on the symposium. However, when Kirk learns Spock is considering returning to Vulcan at the end of the mission, he must decide if it’s worth risking their friendship for something more.

“Spock,” he whispered, leaning forward intently, “what did I say about going easy on me?”
Spock looked like he was holding back a sigh before nodding and moving his rook. “Check, Captain.”
Or: The USS Enterprise is on shore leave and Kirk and Spock have been persuaded to participate in a chess tournament. On their previous mission, due to a near-death experience, they melded deeply. Now, Spock has something crucial to discuss with Kirk but continuous interruptions hinder their conversation.

Summary
Anthony Crowley sells computer systems to London businesses–and specializes in sneaking extra charges and fees into the associated contracts. It’s not his fault no one actually reads the paperwork before signing it.
He thinks mild-mannered bookshop owner Aziraphale Fell will be an easy mark; surely no one that old-fashioned and dotty will spot a few carefully-worded technical clauses in his contract.
And then Aziraphale comes back with some very polite, very pointed questions – and Crowley decides that maybe pulling off the sale isn’t his first priority anymore…

Crowley gets inconveniently discorporated. And it’s not like it’s ever been easy to get a new body, but this time around, things really aren’t looking good. His new innuendo-obsessed lust-demon of a coworker honestly isn’t helping things.
Meanwhile, Aziraphale has a dead body to contend with, and an occult mortician & his very normal daughter to fend off. What lengths will he go to in order to get Crowley back to Earth?
