His stomach drops. Of course. Why did he expect Elias to not be over? Sophie was feeling poorly in the morning and Jon was under the weather as well, so he decided to stay home. “Ask me,” Elias said, leaving Jon speechless. For the first time this whole evening, he looked away from Jon. Eyes trained on the bookshelves behind Jon he repeated: “Ask me, Jon.”
