A ringing noise sounded in Kon’s ears and he felt his heart drop. His roommate on his other side stood up and started screaming in excitement. Kon could feel the other man shaking his shoulders but only one thought was repeating itself over and over in his head.
Shit.
...A Selection is held for Tim to find his future spouse, much to his misery and suspect reasoning. Kon is chosen to participate, but only determined to stick around to spend time with his friends and help Tim pick the right person. He definitely doesn't want to become royalty nor is he falling in love with his new best friend. Right?

Summary
When faced with an upcoming family vacation, Jiang Cheng invites Nie Huaisang, an old friend from summer camp who he hasn't properly spoken to in years, along as his pretend boyfriend. It's supposed to be a win-win situation: Jiang Cheng gets someone there who will have his back amidst family members and in-laws who have made their disdain clear and gets his parents off his back about his lack of love life, and Huaisang gets a week away from the city, his brother's knife company, and the reminder that his brother is in jail for a violent crime. Neither of them expect to catch feelings, but a lot can change over the course of a week at the Jiang family lake house.

“What are you doing here?” The words fall from Rob’s mouth quickly, his heart is pounding in his chest, Kon can hear him swallow a lump in his throat. Kon internally curses and wishes he would have set up a camera, gods, what he wouldn’t give to have gotten that on camera! “Superboy.”
“Oh my god dude your face!” Kon dissolves into a fit of laughter. He rolls over in mid-air back towards Rob while trying to stifle his laugh into his hands. “Nice outfit by the way.”
“Why are you here?” Rob questions through gritted teeth, glancing back to the school yard and then back to him.
“Bit dreary, but you make it work.”
“HOW are you here?!” Rob demands, his voice riddled with panic. He has a death grip on the files still in his hands.
“Relax, Robbie, everything’s chill.”
OR
Four times Kon listens to Tim’s heartbeat for comfort and the one time Tim does the same.
