Summary
They walk through the tunnel, and Yuji is being suspiciously quiet. He keeps looking over at Nobara, and he’s got this horrible look on his face that tells her that he’s attempting to use his brain. Nobara swings her hammer at her side. Megumi’s frog hops behind them; she feels a little queasy every time she hears the moist pads of its feet connect with the tunnel’s stone floor.
She tries to ignore the weird feeling, that pit gathering in her stomach. Something about this little girl is strange, and yet so familiar. She’s smiling at Yuji, and Nobara realises that she’s right– something is familiar about this little girl. She can’t put her finger on it, but she recognises that smile. Yuji almost stumbles over a rock, and her face changes into a little pout– Nobara swears she’s seen that pout somewhere…and those amber coloured eyes.

A time travel disaster on a mission leaves Nobara and Megumi coming to grips with a future neither of them understand.

She says it as though the film has jogged her memory, like it’s some small inconsequential thing, like announcing that she’s going to wear a blue sweater over a red one, or that she’s brought a new pair of shoes.
Megumi nearly chokes on his beer.

“We can’t tell anyone,” She says. He nods in agreement. He’s sure that the consequences wouldn’t be too severe from the school. Besides, they were unlikely to keep it. There was no point in getting anyone else involved. There was also the Zenin clan. If they caught wind of this, things would not bode well, especially as the child could inherit the ten shadows.
“No– we can’t,” He confirms. She nods.
She seems oddly serene, like she’s in a trance-like state. He can’t bring himself to be angry with her, knowing that her hormones are likely out of control. Besides, it’s his fault more than it was hers. He had failed to exercise self-control. Sure she could have objected at any point, but it was up to him to ensure that they were being safe.
“What the fuck are we going to do?” She asks, panic has crept into her voice, she gives him an exasperated look.
He sighs.
“I don’t know”
