“Yeah? Cause it looked pretty intentional,” Steve ground out, clearly angry. Clint darted a look up — and yeah, those were the Eyebrows of Righteous Fury — then focused back on the bubbles lazily floating at the top of his mug. One popped and he wished he could disappear with it.
“I didn’t think he’d react like that.”
“What then, pray tell, did you expect to happen?” And oh god, that was Natasha chiming in. Clint shrugged his shoulders miserably.
“Well, I guess I had been hoping he’d kiss me back.”

The camera moved around to show both of their faces as they shared a quiet smile. “So our new goal is to get Bucky all ready for his debut as an Avenger while also sorting Clint’s life out to be less of a disaster, and then, maybe, getting them to this party together, as dates.”The Fab Five tackle the Winter Soldier, and take on Hawkeye as a side project.

Danny and his buddies 'Frostbite' and 'Fright Knight' once argued for three weeks over medieval dragon politics, which felt appropriate for well, both Dungeons and Dragons. If only he could let his boyfriend know it was okay to talk about his hobbies and share them too.
Or: The time Danny forgot to tell Tim his Ghost King 'part time job' wasn’t an elaborate D&D roleplay.

“Then what did you mean?” Clint has pushed his voice back on track, away from the edge. It’s vicious now, he’s well aware. Feels bad for it, but not bad enough. He doesn’t let James talk; not sure he wants to hear any more of what he has to say. Not when it’s all leading to the same thing. “What’s the point in being with a ghost if it doesn’t mean forever?”

Clint knows a thing or two about ghosts. When one has been haunting your farm for a decade, that's just part of the deal. This is how he learns that, at some point, you have to let them go. A story featuring too much banter, a certain ghost being very picky about paint colors, that weird moment of telling your friends you’ve been dating a supernatural being for over a decade, humor, angst, grief, and so so much love.

Summary
Bucky is a disabled vet struggling with reintegrating into civilian life. He has a routine and a rhythm, and he doesn't like to let anything - big or small - disrupt it. That all changes the day Bucky finds himself inside CATastrophe, the local pet rescue, recovering from a panic attack in the back room of the shop.
He’s used to walking by the place, not visiting, but the next thing Bucky knows, he’s hanging signs and being used as a climbing tree for a bunch of freshly-acquired kittens. And he just...keeps going back. First for the kittens, then for the disaster shop owner who rescues actual kittens from actual trees and teaches archery as a side-gig, and eventually because he’s hopelessly in love.
(Clint was in love before Bucky ever walked in the door.)
