Summary
When Stiles is bitten by a rogue Alpha tearing its way through Beacon Hills, he expects to turn into a werewolf. He's prepared for the uncontrollable anger, the sharp teeth, and the super strength, but even after he heals from the bite, he gets none of those. He's faster, sure. He has enhanced senses, yes. But it's nothing compared to what Scott developed after being turned. Sometimes, the shape you take reflects who you are inside, and Stiles has always gotten up to shenanigans. What creature reliably gets into places it shouldn't, doesn't look very intimidating but will bite the hell out of you, and is too smart for its own good? A raccoon.
While Stiles is learning to control his new abilities, a new threat arrives in Beacon Hills, and werecreatures start going missing. It's up to the Pack to figure out who took them and why. Also, Derek has started acting very strangely about Stiles, like he might actually care about him, and it is throwing Stiles for a loop.

“You’re back,” he said, sounding as surprised as he looked. “I didn’t think you would be.”
“Why not?” Stiles asked, confused and still half-asleep. He yawned as he rubbed both hands across his face again, and then froze at the next words out of Jeremy’s mouth.
“I figured you’d spend the weekend with your boyfriend.”
His what?
“My what?” he asked aloud.
“Your boyfriend,” Jeremy said, tilting his head slightly in confusion. “The angry, overprotective dude who came to get you? You could’ve just told us it was your boyfriend you know, you didn’t have to give us the song and dance ‘he’s my dad’s deputy’ routine. I kind of figured out you were lying about that in first year when you moved in with him for the summer.”
Stiles stared at him, completely flabbergasted about this entire situation.
“What the fuck are you talking about?”

Stiles chuckled and hummed to himself as he looked around at all the trees, ultimately wondering whether he should start traveling in a different direction other than just straight ahead.
“My broodar is telling me I should head in this direction.”
Derek squinted in confusion on the other end of the phone, “Broodar?”
“Yeah. It’s like a gaydar, but for detecting brooding.”
...
Or, the one where Stiles invents a new type of navigation, and Derek regrets asking for clarification.

Summary
The funny thing is, Stiles actually has no idea who just climbed through his window. Doesn't really care, either. All he wants to do is catch a few hours of uninterrupted sleep before the nightmares drag him back to consciousness.
Again.
Still, he expects some sort of snarky response if it's Derek or Peter. Or maybe the vocal embodiment of Scott's puppy dog eyes if it's his best friend.
He doesn't expect several seconds of silence.
And he definitely doesn't expect the sudden and unmistakable thump of a body hitting the ground.
