Your mind is wracked with pain, with flashes of memory that you can’t place. A previous life? You’re not sure. But after the sting of your heads colliding, this strain is too much for your mind to bear. Your vision teeters, hanging on by a single thread, all that’s left are that man’s intense red eyes.
You emerge from your trance with a shaky breath. You reach for your throat, as if to make sure that it’s still in one piece, only to find it coated in a thin sheen of sweat.

You saved Baldur’s Gate almost 300 years ago. You died 150 years ago. On a new life now, you find that memories from your past lead you to a specific silver-haired man. Who was he, and why won't he leave you be?
tldr; An Elf-Tav reincarnation story where Tav dreams about Astarion in their nightly reveries and eventually seeks him out once they reach maturity. Things definitely totally go well.

He chuckled with a sad expression. “I just wanted to talk to you for a bit. The real you. Not the one you control with your incantations.”
You were taken aback, sitting frozen in disbelief. A game character, Astarion himself, was acknowledging you, expressing genuine appreciation for your intervention.
You were still reeling from the shock of -whats supposed to be- a bunch of pixels, addressing you, as if you were a real person.As if *he* was a real person.

The Fall of the Netherbrain was historic. Baldur’s Gate is wrecked, and aside from a splitting headache from your newly tadpole-less skull, you and your companions have come out… alright. Not fine, of course. More scars. More nightmares. But alive and gasping for air when the world suddenly feels so very new and real.
Everyone left in a hurry. Lae’zel rushed off after she found out about your decidedly naive agreement of letting the Emperor kill Orpheus. Karlach and Wyll disappeared to Avernus. And Gale… went to go find the Crown of Karsus in the Chionthar, despite your pleas.
And for the first night since the tadpole was placed in your brain, you find yourself utterly alone.
Well… not quite alone.
