Felix felt a chill. Of course he hadn't read the pages of legal terms, but he couldn't admit to being that careless.
“I read it. Yes, sir, I did,” he lied, holding Chan’s gaze bravely, though his left leg began to tremble.
“I think you should take another look. Just to ensure there are no lingering doubts about what we expect from you,” Chan said, his voice low and vibrating, carrying a tone Felix couldn't identify as either a warning or a challenge.
