Summary
JJ finally makes it to her seat and leans her head back to catch her breath. Her mind wanders to the stunning woman that had given her the greatest weekend of her life and the way her dark hair so elegantly fanned out across the stark white of the hotel room pillow. She feels a pang of regret for leaving without saying "goodbye", but knows it was for the best. When the plane takes off to take her back to DC, she finally lets it hit her that she may never see her again. JJ jams the heels of her hands into her eyes to stop the tears that are so desperate to fall. Worried that she may be making a scene to the people sitting next to her, JJ takes a deep breath and drags her hands down her face and feels something hard rub against her cheek. JJ's eyes go wide as they fall on a delicate gold band sitting comfortable on the third finger of her left hand.

Summary
This AU exists because I couldn’t stop thinking about what the story could be if Colter and Reenie met in a different way before anything messy happened. What would it be like if their relationship began on a foundation of professional respect first, and feelings took their time in a slow burn style friendship to something more situation.
The one night stand of my nightmares never happened.
Ohhh, and did I mention Reenie’s a single mom here? Well, she is and that changes everything: her time, her limits, her stakes. Colter doesn’t get to be a storm that blows through her life. He has to earn his place in it.
Or….the Reenie is a single-mom AU that no one asked for, but has been a lot of fun to write.

Amélie Giroux had a simple dream: to leave an irrefutable mark on history. Becoming the greatest pokémon trainer in the world seemed like a good way to accomplish it. Unfortunately, her mountain of medical debt had other things to say on the matter. When a chance encounter nets her a sponsor, it seems like she’ll finally get her long awaited opportunity—now, all she has to do is enter the Kalos Circuit, beat a few gym leaders (hopefully eight of them) and make it to the Conference her very first year.
What she doesn’t expect is to be caught between two epic conflicts, as the champion of a hidden power who just loves to bounce her between the present and the distant past. But what does Team Flare have to do with the evil, ancient kingdom that nearly conquered Kalos many millennia ago? Why was that era lost to recorded history? What does the phenomenon of mega evolution have to do with it all? And who (or what) the hell is a “Kind Father?”
