Summary
“For if you live according to the flesh, you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live” (Romans 8:13).
Dennis wears the coverings of his youth: traditional black undershirt that covers him from neck to wrists and gloves that he only takes off in the safety of his own home. He wants to be touched. Doesn't know how to ask.
Robby has long-since given up on finding his soulmate - if he even has one. At fifty-two, he's tired of waiting. Tired of wanting. Tired of hoping.
Then: the shift from hell (and that's saying something after Pittfest), a hole in a glove, and a record-breaking number of scrubs changes.

Summary
Dennis believes that the concept of soulmates is a hoax, despite the never ending care that he provides to his mark and his relentless search for warmth from it.
Robby believes that the concept of soulmates is a sign of hope, despite the amount of times he tries scratching and crawling at his mark every time he catches sight of it.
Or: A HuckleRobby soulmate AU where your soulmate mark is a part of a quote that describes the dynamic between soulmates. And when they finally meet, they feel extreme pain as the words are no longer simply ‘tattooed’ but burned and etched into their skin, forever.
Inspired by the tumblr post: “You don’t believe in God, Robby? I’m pretty sure he just sent you an angel.”
