Tim's eyes blow wide and he stares up at the ceiling, the previous night flooding his senses and memories. He can’t move. Can’t breathe. Think. And he most definitely cannot look anywhere else, anywhere he might see Hood. The panic attack is coming. He feels it clawing its way in, ready to course through his nerves and set his heart to spin.
“How do you like your eggs?”
The shock startles Tim enough that he sputters out a breath.

Jason finds an intruder in his apartment. A very drunk, and unfortunately familiar, intruder.

Summary
Joker was beyond redemption. Tim had attended so many funerals, so many memorials, stood in front of countless graves, murmured to sobbing victims, sent flowers to hospital rooms. All because the Joker wanted to play with Batman. All because Batman would rather play the game, then put a permanent end to it all.
Even with the no-killing rule, he would find a way to fix it. The Justice League put super-powered criminals into the Phantom Zone, where they could never escape or harm anyone. Surely, Tim could find something like that to imprison Joker.
But now Red Hood, revealed as the Jason Todd, has entered the scene, stage right. Full of righteous fury. Full of murderous intent. Full of hatred towards the Joker. Maybe he doesn't need to build that phantom zone projector...

That his professor for the semester isn’t Jonathan Crane, but perhaps Sebastian Brain. Nope. The webpage reloads and all Tim can do is sit back in his chair, astounded. “Hey, B? Crane is still in Arkham, right? He hasn’t been granted any sort of pardon, or anything that I might have missed?”

Tim is five years old when he drowns in his parents' pool. He dies quietly, waiting for parents who love him, but will never be there, to realise that something is wrong. They never show up, and he sinks into oblivion.
When he wakes up and claws his way out of the water, the sun has set, and the lights of his house are on. He is cold and wet and his lungs burn.
But most of all, Tim is alone.
