Summary
When Clint Barton gets snatched off the street, taken to an unknown secondary location, and kept tied up so he can spill his guts about the Avengers' secrets and then die painfully, it's pretty par for the course. There's a certain level of stupid, unavoidable risk that comes with making yourself present for every other city-collapsing threat with a bow and arrow. It's never convenient, but it is standard.
What isn't, however, is the dangerous tag-along he picks up on the way back home and the suspicious things happening when he gets there.

Wade looks up at him. He’s gone very quiet, all the sudden, and there’s something grave about how he moves as he drops his sandwich back into the bag and clears his throat.
“There’s something I should tell you,” he says. “It’s very big news for both of us.”
Peter’s immediate thought is that someone has died. His second thought is that someone is pregnant.
Wade does not announce either of those things.
“I’m going to adopt you,” he says, instead.
Peter chokes on his sandwich and then promptly drops it out of surprise. It falls all fifteen feet down to the plastic flooring below and scatters into a dozen little bits of mayonnaise and deli meat.

Wade gets it into his head that the only way he'll achieve narrative stability in the storyline is by taking Spidey in as his adoptive son. He attempts to woo his way into becoming Spidey's new father figure through some deli sandwiches and a rooftop fistfight with a very indignant Daredevil. It doesn't work.
