Mydei closed the window. Then, moved by instinct, and the deep hollowness of his chest, Mydei sat on the bed, placing his hand on the small of Phainon’s back, moving it slowly, sensually, up his spine. Phainon sighed, melting into his touch, into the softness of quiet sleep — into that unwavering, unquestioning trust. Trust Mydei would never hurt him, not intentionally. Trust that he would always be safe with Mydei.
He would do his best to honour it.
Phainon trusts Mydei deeply. Mydei honours that trust.

Phainon greets them with a smile. Or tries to. He’s not sure it lands. He knows them. After all, he’s met them before, countless times actually—some rare cycles here and there where they didn’t meet their ends early.
They’re friendly if not wary. Pleasantries are exchanged, words of joyous occasion, but Phainon’s mind is elsewhere, off on a different plane of existence.
Because Mydei smells like them, and Phainon doesn’t like it.
Mydei returns from Castrum Kremnos smelling like foreign alpha. Phainon reacts.

This close, he’s inundated with the smell of flames, burning ashes and scorched, crackling earth. It's unfettered destruction with slight floral notes, reminiscent of a certain Deliverer.
His veil crumbles into dust right before his eyes.
“Mydei,” the entity whispers, deep and throaty like it’s his first spoken word in years, yet the voice remains recognizable. His golden gaze roams hot over Mydei’s silk covered figure, and Mydei fights the urge to cover himself from view. “It’s you…”
A new prophecy demands Mydei as sacrifice. Cyrene takes the chance to dress him up as a bride.

Mydei clenches his fists. He should attack. Right now. End this madness before it spirals even further. But he can’t. No matter how hard he wills it, his body won’t respond, his heart thrumming fast as his throat seizes. All he can do is stand there, staring in mute horror at the familiar yet warped face of the man he loves.
“This is the first time this has happened,” Flame Reaver muses as he touches his exposed face, moving from his temple downwards to his chin. Those haunting blue eyes betray nothing, and his expression remains apathetic. “How interesting…”
A chance encounter with Flame Reaver leaves Mydei with more questions than answers.

"Oh my Titans," Cipher said. She wasn't even laughing anymore, which was a sign of the coming end times, probably. "The Little Lion's actually pregnant."
"It's early, obviously," Hyacine said, her brows furrowed. "But the signs are all there. Somehow. To know for certain, we'd have to check again later."
"I'm not pregnant!" Mydei shrieked, his voice oddly high-pitched. Around the clinic, other patients turned to look at him.
Mydei took a long, deep breath. Then, stiffly, he repeated himself. "I am not pregnant."
Or, approximately four months after Amphoreus welcomes the new dawn, Mydei wakes up with an odd golden mark burned directly into his abdomen, identical to the symbol of Worldbearing.
Naturally, he does not, in fact, ask Phainon about this phenomenon. Instead, he discusses with the Trailblazer, obtains terrible advice, and goes on the worst railroad trip of his life.
