Summary
“Well, regardless of who you are, you’ve been yourself the entire time. Haven’t you?”
Quixotic, adj: exceedingly idealistic; unrealistic and impractical.
They are not the people they used to be. The past nevertheless catches up to them, and they all must look it in the eye sooner or later.
Memories he never knew he was missing collided with a heart learning how to beat, thanks to people he didn’t know he lost and love he didn’t know he felt. None of them can accept the tragedies their lives were meant to be.
He rekindles the flame, but it’s not that simple. Life is not that simple.
But they’ll always have each other, for better and for worse. They’ll be okay.

His heart was gone.
His father had taken it: ripped open his waistcoat and shirt and chest panel and pulled the mechanical organ out carefully.

Summary
"You a demon?"
The man tilts his head up, and Nero realizes he'd been staring at his arm this entire time, only bothering to assess the rest of him up close. There's a sickeningly long pause, the world tilting on its axis.
Then the man's eyes roll back and he drops to the floor with a quiet thud.
(An AU in which Vergil never manages to take Nero's arm, instead splitting into V and Urizen right there in the garage. Nero suddenly finds himself taking care of a wounded demon and a very sickly man, while trying to piece together the mystery of who these two really are.)

Summary
Kevin was never meant to be in the story.
A burned-out office worker dies on a city crosswalk—only to wake up in the ashes of a village he remembers from a fantasy novel he once adored.
But he is not the hero. Not the villain. Not even a supporting cast.
He’s Phainon—a forgotten character with a death already written. Now, he must choose: obey the system and rewrite his fate, or vanish forever like an annotation erased from the page.
In this world crafted by stars and ink, Kevin will fight for the right to exist—in the margins.
