Summary
Baran let out a quiet laugh. It was the first unguarded sound Trinity had heard from her, low and brief and real. Trinity turned before she could stop herself.
Baran’s smile faded more slowly this time. They were close again. Not touching, still within every rule, but close enough for Trinity to see the darker ring around her irises and a faint indentation where she had worried the inside of her lower lip.
“Dr. Santos,” Baran said.
Trinity waited with a blank expression.
“You need to look at the screen.”
“Right.”

"Has anyone ever told you that you have incredibly keen observation skills, Dr. Santos?"
Trinity's hand stopped mid reach for the orders as she whirled in surprise towards Al-Hashimi who was still standing in the doorway, hands on her hips.
"Ohhh Robo-Doc has jokes, huh?"
"Very funny," her tone was flat, but a quirk of the lip betrayed her.
Apparently, today was a day of firsts.

Summary
"When is Maman going to be home?" Sami asks, hours after the sun has set. Trinity had honestly started to think he'd fallen asleep while watching the cartoons she put on for him and she startles slightly at the sound of his painfully innocent, drowsy words.
"I'm not sure, bud," Trinity says with a frown, checking the time on her phone. It's already well past when Baran usually would have texted that she was on her way home. Her notifications remain stubbornly empty. "You know how busy she can be."
