Summary
When Jack sets out for his first run in the brand new War Rig, he's hoping for a quiet day. Instead, the run ends with his men dead and his convoy hijacked — and the biker holding a gun to his head turns out to be the daughter of Dementus himself.
Dee doesn't think twice about telling the War Rig's praetorian to pull over and get out. For her, it's just another day in service of Gastown and the Biker Horde, doing what she has to do to survive. And she learned a long time ago that preserving her own life often comes at the cost of someone else's.
But when the rest of her mission doesn't go as planned, that praetorian might just be the only person she can trust.

The pursuit ends just a little differently. Not a lot differently. Maybe worse in fact.
Furiosa rips the Valiant out from underneath the tire of the Six Foot and somehow they make it. Warlords disappear in the rearview and all it costs them to reach the vast tracts of even less hospitable desert was a gunshot wound, half their gear, an arm, and the only map that might lead them out.

Dementus shouts: “Take my beauties for a run! They’re getting bored!” And his bikies hoot and holler and part to make a path for the one towing Jack to exit the circle. Off they go: the bike’s engine roaring, Jack dragging behind, and the dogs trailing after, spittle flying from their muzzles.
Between the dust and the bikes, he cannot see Furiosa.
Jack counts this as a mercy. He does not want to see her face as she watches him die.308 days after Furiosa's Road War, Max finds a slave named Jack in the desert.

Summary
Furiosa thought the last promise she had to keep was returning home. Once she learns that home isn't where she thought it was anymore, she follows Valkyrie to where the rest of the Vulvalini have gone. She encounters a few familiar faces there, but one of them is one that she never thought she'd see again.
Everything about this is impossible, and trying to accept it is almost harder than surviving in the Wasteland had been. She is an outsider among her own people, but at least she isn't the only one.
