Summary
“Bite me,” He whimpered. “Please, Mike.”
And Mike looked like he would do it. But then, he pulled away. He pried himself out of Will’s grasp, feet landing on the floor, backing away towards the door.
The movement sent alarm through Will.
“Please. Mike.” Maybe a more articulate request would’ve made him stay, but Will couldn’t seem to form the words.
“It’s okay, I’m just gonna get your mom.” Mike continued to back away. “I’ll be quick.”
Or: Mike has always stayed with Will during his non-sexual heats. The summer before college, Will experiences his first sexual heat. When Mike leaves, Will's inner feels rejected. Due to the accidental rejection, Will struggles to navigate life as he had previously: trusting his inner and following his instincts. He just can't seem to figure out why.

The words hung there, half-joke, half-challenge, drawn from the same nervous energy that made Mike open up moments earlier.
Will's pulse hammered in his ears. He met Mike's eyes, and really looked at him, he saw the same mix of curiosity and embarrassment staring back.
"I bet I am," Will said softly, the words slipping out before he could take them back.

Mike finally turned to look at him, “I know who my soulmate is, Will”.
Will looked up at him, “So do I, Mike, and it’s not Jane”
OR
Will travels to Maine to join his friends and family for Mike & Jane’s wedding.
But, when Mike finds out he has to marry his soulmate by nightfall on the day of his wedding, or die, Will can’t stand by and watch the two most important people in his life be taken from him.

A few strands of hair fall across her face, and her eyes are dark and furious. “It’s making me insanely horny because it wants me to eat you out and breathe all its nasty polluted shadow monster particles right through your cervix so I can infest your uterus with our gross hybrid monster baby! And obviously neither of us wants that, so forgive me if I’d rather risk the alternative!”
