“It wasn’t you who I liked, Lily,” Regulus says slowly, and her eyes widen, circling thoughts coming to a halt as she gapes.
“It wasn’t? But I had seen you staring- and Pandora said you were jealous once, of the relationship me and James had,” Regulus glances down nervously, wringing his fingers together as he bites his lip.
“I was jealous,” he says quietly, and Lily shakes her head, confused.
“But… you didn’t like me?”
“I was jealous,” he repeats, glancing up, and to Lily’s horror, tears were forming in his eyes, “but I wasn’t jealous of him. I was jealous of you.”
She blinks again, eyebrows furrowing, before her mouth takes the shape of an O as he continues, blinking wildly to try to stop the tears.
“I wanted him to look at me, but all he could ever see was you- you and your stupid hair,” he breaths out a wet laugh as he continues, tears streaming down his cheeks now, “and I get it, you’re so pretty, and sweet, and caring, and you have an attitude. You can stick up for yourself, and dress nice, and even your laugh is perfect. I understand why he likes you.”
He sniffs, rubbing his cheeks dry. Meeting her eyes, which were still wide, he smiles slightly. “I like James, Lily.”

George Weasley had never been so scared in his life, not wanting to disappoint his family but also not wanting to leave Fred alone in Slytherin. But, as the stars like to play tricks on us, George enters Slytherin alongside his twin. Scared they'd be disowned.
Molly Weasley sent a howler after reading the letter saying she raised them wrong if they believed something like that would ever change how she loves them. But as I said; the stars like to play tricks on us.
So the bias towards the houses, never ever, crossed Harry's mind when he sat on the stool that day.
