"You had no idea that it was going to work!" Stiles throws his hands up. Why is Derek the most frustrating werewolf in the history of ever, why is Stiles even helping him, why is this his life? "Why did they even believe you in the first place?"
Derek says, "You reeked of me," which is unfair. Stiles only smelled because he'd gotten covered in Derek's bodily fluids trying to staunch the bleeding.

Summary
Maybe he’s dead. Maybe he died when Lalo shot him in the head, and this is hell, or purgatory, or something. It would be a fitting fate for him: stuck fighting for his freedom over and over only to be trapped again; killing Salamancas again and again only to be confronted with more of them.
As far as metaphors for his life go, this is a little on-the-nose.

It’s January 15, ninety-five days since the worst thing she’s ever done, but there isn’t any statute of limitations on that.
(Or, Max is miserable, Billy's in danger, and Steve just wants to help. A take on why Max and Billy moved to Hawkins in the first place, featuring too many 80's songs and also a love story, maybe two.)

Summary
It all starts with the bruises Steve didn't give to Billy.
Billy has a split from the top of his lip to the bottom, a black eye to match Steve’s black eye, and bruises on his jaw, same side as the split lip. Steve, didn’t do - that. There is too much damage there. He got what, three maybe four good punches in, but not good enough to make Billy’s face look like that. It looks painful. It makes Steve pause. He can feel the confusion showing on his face. Narrowing blue eyes meet his, Hargrove must be able to see it, his confusion. Billy tips his head back slightly and holds Steve’s gaze, taking him in while letting Steve do the same in return. There is a gash across one of his eyebrows too. Billy doesn’t shy away from Steve’s stare, he takes a slow drag from the cigarette he has pitched between his fingers making time feel like it grinds to a halt. He has this look in his eyes that’s challenging, a look that says, you don’t know me.
Steve can’t look away. Blames it on the bruises he didn’t give to Billy Hargrove. And the question, if he didn’t, who did?
