Summary
Written for the kinkmeme prompt: "Treville gives the Three Inseparables a few days leave after the conclusion of episode one to rest and recuperate. Aramis and Porthos, haunted by the thought that if they'd taken five minutes longer then Athos would be dead, take up residence in Athos' lodgings and don't let him leave the bed for those three days. Athos, having spent a horrible night in prison awaiting death is grateful for the contact and comfort."

Summary
“And then I fell in love,” Athos continues, “With a woman,” he adds hastily, as if it is important to clarify. “It went about as badly as it is possible for such things to go.”
“She died?” Aramis asks, carefully.
“She no longer lives,” Athos replies after a while, as though choosing his words carefully. He sighs again, huge and tired. “I confess I did not think I was capable of love any longer. This- ” he waves his hand vaguely between himself and Aramis in a way that seems to convey some measure of annoyance “- Has been most surprising.”
Athos shifts as though uncomfortable suddenly, “Not least because you are…well, a man.” He clears his throat. “As am I.”
Aramis cannot help the small smile that sneaks across his face. He schools it, nods seriously. “Yes. I had noticed that too.”

Summary
A song of opposites. Aramis is so fascinated by Athos precisely because they are so utterly different.
Edit: I’ve changed this from 2 chapters done-and-dusted to a ? because I think it might have to be continued.

Summary
Vane understands love like he understands power. Like he understands the north star, unwavering and bright and mired up in blackness to guide himself by: it’s not something that feels good, that’s a myth fashioned from drinking songs, from people who have confused the heat of a whore with the taste of good rum. Love isn’t pleasure; love is respect, which is tinged with gunpowder, which is tinged with pain.
Or, Vane's allegiance changes.
