Within the Canvas, when a fated Alpha/Omega soulmate pair goes into their rut and heat, they share sensations regardless of any distance between them. Verso decides he can't afford to have a mate if he wants to see his plans through. Gustave decides that if his Alpha doesn't want to have anything to do with him, he's not going to spend his heats alone.
