Summary
Wylan Van Eck is the veritable prince of Kerch - an influencer famous thanks to his father's wealth and political status, beloved by many, derided by some, and truly known by very few. Behind closed doors, everything he does is designed to make himself an asset to the Van Eck empire, to make himself something his father might not want but definitely needs to keep around.
Jesper is an up-and-coming actor, not making a splash but well on his way to making ripples, but most of the fortune he should be making is going towards paying off an astronomical amount of gambling debt. After Jan Van Eck makes some questionable comments that are thrown about in the press, his PR team devise a wildly problematic ploy that might just be the answer to Jesper's problems. Six dates over six months, with the boy Jesper grew up seeing lit up on his phone screen. What could go wrong?

Kaz squints at her. “Are you a student, Inej?”
And, oh, no.
Her name sounds exactly right in his rock salt rasp. It spells trouble. She shakes it off and tries to focus on answering the question. She supposes that in a different world she could be a student. She would live in a cozy apartment with some other girls, and this would just be a part-time job, so she would have time to attend lectures and write papers and go on dates.
But Inej does not live in that world. She lives in this one.

And then he stuck out his hand, oblivious to the way Arthur‘s mouth dropped openOr, during the Great Purge, Balinor can convince Uther not to kill all dragons. Instead, Uther magically imprisons him and the remaining dragons at the Dragon's Keep. Now, almost twenty years later, prince Arthur regualary comes to check on him. Things change, when he brings a certain manservant with him.

The merman rolled his eyes, “I’m not clueless.” He was now reclined against a large rock, his long tail stretched out on the bank beside the creek, fins waving lazily.
They were so big. They looked so soft. Wylan kind of wanted to touch them.
Yeah, it was official. Wylan was most definitely hallucinating.
"You're not hallucinating."
Had he said that out loud?
The merman grinned at him, and Wylan resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He failed.
“Fucking saints,” he muttered, turning away so the he was facing the line of trees instead.
OR
Wylan should have died when he fell (once again) from a ship. His saviour however, is *not* what he would have expected. He's now forced to put aside his superstitions and general disbelief if he wants any chance of getting free of the deserted island.
