Ilya leans forward as Shane works the product into his curls. He presses his fingers all the way into Ilya’s hair, and then scrunches his fingers until the pressure of Ilya’s hair being pulled edges just into a sting. Ilya groans, head going heavy and dropping onto Shane’s shoulder. “What are you doing?” he asks.
“Testing something,” Shane says easily.

Ilya turns his head to face him, nose smashing into the pillow as he does. Shane’s runs his finger across Ilya’s cheek when they finally make eye contact. Ilya squints. “What?” he asks. “Why are you practicing math in the bed? Only math here is for counting orgasms.”
Shane is biting back a smile, Ilya can tell. “Nineteen moles. On your back. I counted.”

Svetlana blows a raspberry. “Boo.”
She’s close enough to touch. Rose leans in and presses their lips together, feeling Svetlana’s smile against her own. It’s different from kissing a man, but it’s still kissing. Rose knows how to kiss, and clearly Svetlana does, too, judging by the hand inching into her hair. Rose lets her lips part the slightest bit, and Svetlana slots perfectly into the gap.
When they pull back, they stare at each other for a moment before bursting into laughter. Rose steadies herself with a hand on Svetlana’s waist before hushing them. “We’re gonna wake them up,” she hisses.
On vacation, Rose and Svetlana meet for the first time. They decide to do something about the lack of women being fucked in the cottage.

Summary
Shane holds his hand in the grocery store. He bumps their knees together under the lunch table after practice. He kisses Ilya for good luck before physio. Each and every little thing feels like a victory worthy of a rallying speech and dragging the boys out for drinks. Ilya supposes that him and Shane together, in public, still playing hockey, is probably the biggest victory of their careers.
After transferring to the Centaurs, Shane is surprisingly affectionate. Ilya isn't going to let anything change that.

Summary
It does mean missing out on things like barbeques and team dinners sometimes, but it’s not as if he would have been able to participate anyway. At this point in his life, risking someone not taking his allergies seriously would mean potentially missing games, which makes it unacceptable. Jackie always makes sure he has a dish or two that’s safe when he’s over at their house, but if he was going to be the one guy sitting and drinking ginger ale instead of taking part in sharing nachos or Korean barbeque or burgers or any other delicious thing he goes in knowing he can’t have anyway, there’s no point in making a fuss about it. He eats at home, has a drink with everyone else, and he calls it a day. Easy. Safe. Foolproof.
But also the reason it doesn’t occur to him that he hasn’t actually told Ilya about any of his allergies until it becomes immediately relevant five days into being at his cottage together.

Rozanov looks away, breathing hard. “Does not matter,” he says. “Forget it. I should go.”
And no. Shane doesn’t want Rozanov to go. He wants to fix whatever is wrong. He grabs Rozanov’s face and turns his head so their eyes meet.
“Fuck, baby,” Shane breathes. “You know how good you are.”
For a moment, he’s taken aback by Rozanov’s expression, until he realises what he just said.

"Shane," Bood says firmly. And it sounds so wrong, because Bood never calls him Shane. Shane is always Hollzy. And Bood's voice is supposed to be loud and steady, not shaky. And Shane finally, finally becomes aware enough of his surroundings to feel the trembling of Bood's hands against his waist. "Shane, please. They're working on him. We need to give them space so they can—so they can make sure he's okay."
"He's my husband," Shane chokes out, not quite managing to choke down the sob that's been building up long enough to boil over. Bood makes a similarly choked noise at that. "You need to let me go. He's my husband."
OR
Ilya gets injured on the ice during Shane's first season with the Centaurs. Shane loses his mind, a bit.
