Summary
Two months after Akaza goes missing, Kyojuro awakens from a coma to find that the Corps has lost, Kibutsuji Muzan has conquered the sun, and the entire world has gone to hell around them.
While he struggles to adjust to this new reality, Upper Moon Three has also found him once again and now haunts him like an ever-persistent shadow. Akaza has no recollection of the time they spent together, and despite Kyojuro’s best attempts to remind him, seems determined not to remember.
Meanwhile, Akaza tries his hardest to understand why the Flame Hashira he nearly killed twice keeps on insisting that they know each other, and why, even with the world ending around them, Kyojuro is so determined to save him.

Shouta waits him out, prompts him to speak again like that and thankfully Nedzu does.
"What with your son's birthday and all."
And there it is, Shouta thinks with mounting despair and Nedzu gives him a look.
"Which you knew. Because it was in his file."
Right. The file. The file CPS handed to them after they applied to foster Hitoshi. The file that is thicker than Shouta wants to think about. The file he started to read and then had to stop shortly after because reading about all of the accusations and the sometimes only thinly veiled abuse Hitoshi had to go through had made him sick to his stomach.
