Summary
Ilya Rozanov is a new dog owner, and no amount of treats, bribery, or pleading can get Anya, his recently-adopted Australian shepherd, to listen to a thing he says. When she beelines straight toward one Shane Hollander arguing on his phone in French at the dog park, Ilya finds out several things—one, Anya was trained in French and doesn’t understand English commands; two, the incredibly attractive man in front of him is a bilingual dog trainer; and three, offers to give Ilya French lessons.

“Yes,” he whispered, looking off into the trees, but not really seeing them.
“Is everything okay?”
“No,” Ilya whispered, turning toward him with a look of broken desperation on his face. “Shane, why do they make tents with no instruction manuals? Why are there a million different pieces? Why do they do this? It is like they are trying to punish me.”
