Finally, Ilya slipped back into the car and sighed in relief as warm air from the AC washed over his bare arms. He leaned his head back against the headrest, closing his eyes for a moment. His fist was sore, the knuckles red and smeared with blood. Damn, he'd forgotten to wipe it off too.
The rearview mirror caught his eye. An unconscious girl was still sprawled across the back seat of his car.

“What do you mean, your catfish?” Ilya angles the phone so Sveta can see the shirtless picture on the screen.
“This guy is pretending to be Shane Hollander on Grindr. It’s pretty funny. He’s cropped the face out, but he’s using pictures from the billboard next to my apartment.”
Or: Ilya Rozanov is sure he's being catfished- why would the real Shane Hollander be on Grindr, talking to random university of Ottawa students? But the more he talks to Wayne, the more he starts to like him, and the more he wishes Wayne would just come clean so they can finally be together.

"I have an idea," Shane says, out of nowhere, which is how most of the best sexual experiences of Ilya's entire life have started.
Ilya isn't really in the mood to try something new. He's feeling mopey and sorry for himself and his broken dick and he doesn't want to let himself and Shane down, again. He was already depressed, anyways, and he doesn't know how many more failures he can take. But Shane looks so bright and hopeful and excited, like he's come up with a thrilling little secret, and Ilya can never say no to him when he makes that particular face. "Go on."
"I know you don't want to have sex because you feel bad that you can't get hard. But. What if you made me feel bad instead?"

Summary
No serious hockey fan or sports commentator worth their salt would have considered record-breaking Boston superstar Ilya Rozanov to be Shane Hollander’s rival exactly, but sleeping with a man who had a specific offense-related vendetta against him and a wrist shot like a jet engine to back it up was probably ill-advised just the same.
Or, Shane is a goalie. Ilya can’t score.

Summary
The Swiss National League doesn’t care about the legendary Hollander-Rozanov rivalry. When the MLH can’t negotiate with the Hockey Players’ Union in time to prevent a hockey lockout at the start of the 2015 season, the Zürich Lions jump at the chance to sign both Shane and Ilya to short-term contracts. For four months in Switzerland, they share a team, a line, a house, and a bed.
Then the lockout ends in January, and it’s time to go back. Back to different countries, cities, lives. Beds.
