When she'd been given a mission to infiltrate the C&A corporation to look into the mysterious slew of comatose victims, [Name Redacted] had not anticipated waking into a colorful nightmare world upon investigating a headset.
Looking at the colorful mess around her, the cartoon characters which she now was a part of, she could only reason that it could be worse. At least it wasn't a killing game. Not in the stricter sense of the word anyway.
~or: Pomni is a spy, and none of her conditioning could have prepared her for the AMAZING digital circus. But damn it if she's not going to try and save everyone anyway.

Her whole life, Pomni's family has been weird. Piecing itself together one member at a time, arriving randomly across the years already perfectly familiar with each of the others, always welcomed as if old friends. The only one left out of the loop was her, for some reason.
So it's even more weird to enter the Circus and be unable to shake that feeling that… she knows these people. It's… as if they're the same.
But that's impossible, right? It feels like a paradox.

Though he insisted that everyone call him Mr. Mark since he ‘always hit his mark’, but really it was because his name was a mouthful.”
“Wait, he’s the guy that always comes back to life, right?” Percy asked. He thinks about how the color of the man’s eyes matched the flicks of amber gold in his own eyes. The man looked so kind.
“Usually.” was the Camp Director’s response. “But he’s been gone for a while. His most recent death wasn’t exactly normal. Dropped dead in front of all of us one day during breakfast and traumatized all the poor brats.”
“...Oh. I’m sorry.”

Summary
Rather than go on a rampage, a very frazzled Caine decides to try to just hash things out with the players. It goes about as well as anything Caine tries, and leads to a revelation about a certain jester no one was expecting... least of all Pomni. It turns out Caine's been working on intelligent NPCs a lot longer than anyone thought. Surely our band of well-adjusted, mentally stable, and not at all traumatized heroes will handle this latest existential horror well. Right? Right?
