Summary
After a bad game, Shane needs something. Ilya can’t give it to him if he doesn’t use his words. AKA Ilya threatens to whore Shane out to the Raiders.
The place feels off. Like it’s at an angle. Shane whips his head around. All his stuff looks normal, in its right place, the Montreal backdrop glittering among the reflections of the lamps dotted around the place. He can’t seem to focus on anything. Maybe Rozanov isn’t even here. Maybe he has a second to pull himself togeth–
Shane’s eyes lock onto Rozanov’s like a bolt slotting into place.
He’s reclined into the corner of the couch, arm slung over the side, knee falling open onto the seat. Tumbler in hand, something brown he must’ve found in a forgotten cupboard. Looking amused.
“Well done,” Shane says, and his voice only wobbles a fraction. It should come easy to him. It’s Shane’s brand. But tonight, with him, he’s having to force the words out.
Rozanov’s eyes crinkle. “Thanks,” he says. Shane doesn’t expect any congratulations, but the absence of the return hangs between them, possibly even louder.
Yeah. Tonight was a real low for him.

Me: Oh so he’s a lil fucked up, got it. Here he is developing a bruise kink on top of everything else going on.Something’s different, just in general. Like wearing sunglasses, a filter of sorts over everything, but if Shane was in any way honest with himself, he’d know it was more like going without for the first time.
He’s painfully aware of his body these days; how it looks, how it moves, how it responds to… stimuli. And it is responding, lately. His bruises, too: always just there, so used to them they’d barely registered anymore, but recently there’s been a sort of constant hum of them at the edge of his awareness. It’s a layer of input he really doesn’t need right now, busy as he is.
But he’s been woken up. Restless. Needy.
Late in bed, when all his chores are done, fingers travel up to his collarbone, where the newest acquisition is waiting for him.

“On the bed,” Harrow instructs, not unkindly, from the corner of the dimly lit room. Gideon doesn’t hesitate, and slowly pushes Corona down until she’s horizontal before climbing over her. Corona shuffles herself further up the bed, golden curls fanning out either side of her head. Her expression is changing, sadness taken over by curiosity. Gideon hovers over her, determined not to let her leave before she’s turned that frown upside down.
“Undress her,” Harrow says, and Ianthe growls from behind her muzzle. Gideon fights the urge to look over at where she is kneeling next to Harrow. Tonight is about Corona.

Ilya is a very perceptive person. He saw the way Shane held himself. He heard the way Shane talked about his girlfriend. Most importantly, he saw the way that Shane had looked at /him/.
Shane was convincing himself he was straight. Ilya knew he was not.
Ilya hadn’t lied - he /was/ going to help Shane with his anxiety. It just so happened that a good part of Shane’s anxiety came from the fact that he was lying to himself and everyone else about a key part of himself.
So Ilya was going to be helping Shane accept that part of himself. No matter what it takes.
