One where corpses are numbers and loss is a line in the margin. For him, empathy is an error in the system. To someone built on empathy, this is inhuman. To someone built on logic, those tears are senseless. Machines envy warm, fragile flesh. Humans envy the peace of being cold.

Summary
Kaori went into labor, and as if the gods had a wicked sense of humor, the baby was born on Sukuna’s birthday. March 20th - formerly a date reserved for Sukuna’s own personal hedonistic celebrations - was now shared with a squirming infant named Yuji. Sukuna visited the hospital out of obligation, clad in his usual black attire that made him look more suited for a biker bar than a maternity ward.
"Here, meet your nephew." Without warning, Jin had placed Yuji into Sukuna’s arms. The tiny creature was so small, so delicate, that it took all of Sukuna’s self-control not to flinch. The truth was, Sukuna didn’t know what he felt. What the hell did he know about babies? He wasn’t built to protect anything so small, so defenseless. Hell, he wasn’t even sure he could take care of a plant, much less something with a heartbeat.
In that brief moment, something stirred in Sukuna’s chest - a feeling he quickly buried under layers of cynicism and self-preservation. He handed Yuji back to Jin as quickly as he could, shoving his hands into his pockets as if to distance himself from the entire experience. "Congratulations. You’ve officially ruined your life."
