It’s quaint, in a nauseating sort of way. Polished floors glint from the gleaming honeycomb chandeliers overhead, make him squint. A few vases sprinkled here and there, filling the room with a sickeningly sweet scent – even a waffle-cone headrest framing the silken sheets of a neatly-tucked bed. Outside, the golden sun gleams, the gentle rays of light spilling past curtains that waver in the afternoon breeze.
It's meant to be beautiful. Luxurious. Welcoming.

Oh. My. God. This is genuinely one of the best fics I have ever read and I’ll never be able to forget it. Every single character in this story feels like they were ripped from the game itself. The relationship between Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla here completely changed the way I viewed them forever. Honestly, I don't have the words to describe how Incredible and truly inspirational this fic is. This story is the staple for shadowvanilla fics for a reason. It's really just that good.

This is first ever fanfic I read on ao3 before I even had an account, so of course I had to bookmark it. (can't forget your roots) Its a great read with everything I could ask for from a sea salt family fic and has plenty of cute scenes to look back on and smile at. For me, it was a great introduction to the never ending obsession of ao3 I would fall into.

Summary
When Lea and Isa were kids, they spent so much of their time sneaking into the castle at Radiant Gardens. Once they became apprentices, they then spent so much of their time trying to sneak out of the castle. When they did sneak out, they always went to the same spot. Their spot. The wall. It lined the edge of the gardens and looked over the vast valley. They could see everything from that spot. It made them feel so small compared to the rest of the world, but it also made them feel like the only two people in the world. Especially at night. When the moon was risen, and the stars were out. They were vulnerable to each other then and there; they had no secrets.
Isa knows he’ll give anything to get that back. He’ll do anything to repair his friendship with Lea. Sure, things are normal enough between them now, but there’s still so much missing. So much that has changed. And he understands that things will never go back to exactly they were before, but the closer he can get, the better.

Its been a while since I've read/reread this fic, but from what I remember, I loved every second of it. The PTSD Saïx goes though is incredibly well done and really makes you resonate with the character. The relationship he and Axel share is truly heartwarming and I loved every second of it. Overall, this story is one I won't soon forget and I’d do anything to read it for the first time again.

In my opinion, I couldn't have read a better kh medieval fic than this one. The world the characters are in is so beautiful and well thought out. The relationship between Axel and Saïx reminds of their conventions in game. And overall, it's an amazing read. I don't really have the words to describe it to be honest. It's just a perfect story for a medieval AU.

I'll forever be absolutely obsessed with this fic. Not only was the strory Incredibly engaging, but multiple times throughout it I was genuinely worried for the characters. (to the point of losing sleep over them) This especially applies to Saïx, as most of his conversations with Xemnas had me on edge of seat. This fanfic also offers everything I could want from an AkuSai fic and I’m glad I got to read it. I also reread it with my friend (who was reading it for the first time) and I’m so happy I could share this story with them. I truly can’t recommend this fic enough.

This is one of my favorite fanfics I’ve ever read (and reread). I read it early on as I was getting into ao3 and for at least a year It has stuck with me. Multiple times throughout the story I was constantly on the edge of my seat, and found myself genuinely worried for the characters. (like to the point of losing sleep over them) And to this day, I still find this fic really inspirational and moving. I can't recommend it enough.
