Summary
It’s a bad idea. Steve knows it’s a bad idea. It’s extraordinarily, astronomically bad. And he isn’t exactly known for his brain, so if he can recognize the idea as categorically not good–
He’s desperate, is the thing.
Desperate to escape the knowing stares and the pitying glances and King Steve sneered like an insult or whispered like a prayer. Desperate to find a version of himself that doesn’t have to live a certain way, say certain things, be certain anything.
He’s just…tired of it. Tired of being the Hair or the King, tired of wearing a jacket that’s too tight in a role that doesn’t fit anymore.
And he knows that there’s only one person in Hawkins who knows how to defy expectations and shuck an ill-fitting role like he was made to do it.
*
Or, Eddie Munson is a loser. Steve wants in on it.

Summary
[When Eddie leaves it’s not grandiose or dramatic. Eddie hugs him and Buck hugs him back, of course.
He hides his face in the curve of Eddie’s neck and breathes in the scent of him, of pinewood and soap.
Eddie’s fingers dig in his back, and he prays they might leave marks behind, scratch Eddie’s signature right into his skin, prays they might leave bruises on his very bones, let him keep Eddie right here, in his arms, forever.
But eventually, gone as all good things do, Eddie pulls back. He smiles, and his eyes are a storm, warm honey clouded with lightning and thunder, and the only thing Buck can do is smile back. He’s never been good at goodbyes, he should be used to them. He isn’t.
And then, just like that, Eddie’s gone, taking with him half of Buck’s heart and all the oxygen in his lungs.]OR Eddie leaves, and Buck sinks and sinks and then, eventually, he remembers how to swim

Summary
It's probably only minutes later when he comes aware of rustle of movement behind him. He thinks, at first—
Maybe an animal, or another omega.
But there's something controlled about it, like it was a sound made deliberate enough to make him aware of it. Like he's being stalked through the woods now, and the Alpha who found him is getting impatient with him.
He grins.
This is why he was here, and his heart rate ratchets up in the anticipation of it.
He glances behind him, and can see the shape of a man chasing him through the shadows, his form barely knowable in this low half light, he catches parts of a man through silvered thin fractals of light from the moonlight breaking through the canopy—
The golden flash of eyes.
Dark brown hair.
A large hand, reaching—
All of it familiar in a way that makes him ache.
RUN. -

Summary
Buck thinks to when Eddie took him and Christopher to the beach, how Eddie pulled him feet down underwater and pressed a kiss to his lips before he could let out a watery sound of confusion. It was a sweet moment, one he thought of fondly, but it had hurt: the pressure of water wrapping around his skull, Eddie keeping him under. It lasted only a mere moment before the two bobbed back to the surface, Buck sucking in a deep air and hitting his husband with a demand of never do that again!
Whatever has been done to him feels like a prolonged version of that: a deep, tension strain that wraps around the entirety of his skull and makes his head throb, aching for his mouth to open so he can suck a deep breath of air into his lungs. Only now, whatever or whoever is keeping him down does not want him to raise back up.
The one where Buck is kidnapped and injected with heat inducers.
