Summary
Ilya is not going to steal Shane Hollander's dog. That would be illegal. And wrong. And someone would probably find out and make Ilya give him back.
So. Not stealing.
But there is nothing wrong with giving Chernysh all the pats and treats that he deserves, is there?
Nothing wrong with encouraging Chernysh to spend more and more time at Ilya's house until he doesn't even remember who Hollander is.
Because Hollander is stupid and boring and does not deserve a dog as good as Chernysh. No, he doesn't, does he? Because Chernysh is the best boy in the whole world, yes he is.

Summary
On a whim, Shane sends Ilya a postcard after they reunite in Tampa. And while it may have started out as an impulse, Shane and Ilya continue to send one another postcards using their code names. This takes place primarily between Tampa and the Cottage. While they text and FaceTime, the postcards are another way to communicate, but they're also more than that. They are something both Shane and Ilya can hold onto out in the open.

Summary
“I pee on a stick every day, take my temperature, app tells me when to fuck,” Ilya summarises succinctly. “App says we fuck today. Possibly tomorrow also.”
“Tomorrow too?” Shane teases. “Are you just trying to get into my pants?”
“If I was just trying to get into your pants I wouldn’t be on bottom,” Ilya points out, and he does have a point there. Not that topping is unpleasant, or anything, but it’s not exactly something Shane tends to do without an occasion. “I also wouldn’t have to use app. I would say ‘Hollander, get your dick out,’ and you get your dick out.”
“Are you calling me easy?”
“Yes. We are both easy, it is the best thing about our relationship.”
—————
Shane and Ilya want kids, preferably soon. The details of making that happen prove to be slightly more complicated than initially anticipated.

Summary
Ilya asked Shane’s father while Shane and his mother were talking outside: “Is boyfriends correct? Lovers is incorrect, but I am not sure what is correct.”
“Well,” Mr. Hollander said. “‘Lovers’ is usually used for, hm, a mistress or an affair. Something kind of sordid. Though--you would say Romeo and Juliet is a play about two lovers,” he said. He paused his knife on the chopping board. “Somehow that’s right and using it for real people isn’t right. English is a damn funny language, Ilya."
“Yes,” Ilya said from the bottom of his heart.
