Because they loved to fuck.

Seonghwa was transfixed as he watched the being break the cocoon from the inside out, seeing those long black claws that could be like knives spearing through before being pulled back in and next he saw how the creature started to fully pull itself free— it was more humanoid than he had expected.
It's beautiful.
Was the only clear thing in Seonghwa's mind as the creature's claws scratched the floor leaving deep marks to the surface of it, bones on its long limbs seemed to snap back into place as it gathered strength into its body to stand up after centuries, or that's how old they had suspected the cocoon to be.
